Responsibilities
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams to accelerate the development of novel reagents and assays used across Illumina NGS platforms.
- Plan and execute various laboratory activities, communicate results and conclusions to aid in team decision-making.
- Maintain good lab and documentation practices.
- Upkeep of lab equipment, laboratory supplies and good housekeeping

Position Requirements:
- Minimum B.Sc./B.Eng. with 1-2 years laboratory experience in a relevant field such as life sciences, biochemistry, biochemical/chemical engineering or equivalent is required.
- Recent B.Sc. graduates with laboratory experience may also apply
- Familiarity in various molecular biology and analytical techniques eg. quantitative PCR, optical/fluorescence microscopy, electrophoresis, liquid chromatography, activity assays, cell culture, nucleic acid isolation
- Strong collaborator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sense of urgency and ability to achieve deliverables within project timelines
- Ability to adapt to business needs in a rapidly changing, fast paced industry

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills:
- Experience with NGS library preparation
- Previous work experience in biochemical, pharma, chemical or equivalent industries
- Experience with IVD and/or RUO product development
- Experience with NGS workflows including bioinformatics data processing
- Understanding of protein biochemistry, engineering and structure
