Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager is a strategic and hands-on HR leader responsible for driving a strong employee experience, fostering an inclusive and high-performance culture, and ensuring HR practices align with RLS business objectives.

This role will support approximately 80 employees globally, with the majority based in Hazelwood, MO, and a small population of team members located internationally (UK, Europe, Japan, and Australia). The HR Manager will serve as the primary HR partner to site leadership, providing guidance across employee relations, talent development, workforce planning, compliance, and organizational effectiveness. This position requires a proactive mindset, strong business acumen, and the ability to balance day-to-day HR execution with longer-term people strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with site and business leaders to align people strategies with organizational priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on leadership effectiveness, workforce needs, and employee engagement.
  • Support a consistent HR approach across global teams while remaining responsive to local employee needs.
  • Lead employee relations efforts with fairness, consistency, and respect.
  • Conduct workplace investigations, support conflict resolution, and provide guidance on corrective actions.
  • Promote an engaged, high-trust culture through open communication and proactive issue identification.
  • Use employee feedback and ER trends to recommend improvements and strengthen retention.
  • Partner with leaders to identify talent needs, skill gaps, and development opportunities.
  • Lead performance management processes including goal alignment, coaching, and feedback practices.
  • Assist in succession planning and the development of high-potential employees and frontline leaders.
  • Collaborate with leadership to anticipate staffing needs and support organizational growth.
  • Analyze turnover trends, workforce risks, and talent pipeline gaps to inform decision-making.
  • Support organizational change initiatives, restructuring efforts, and scalable HR practices.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies.
  • Provide oversight and coordination for HR programs including onboarding, leave administration, and employee documentation.
  • Support international employee HR needs in partnership with global resources and local compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes, systems, and employee experience practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • HR certification preferred (example: SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR).
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in manufacturing, industrial, or technical environments.
  • Strong experience in employee relations, investigations, performance management, and leader coaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a lean, fast-paced organization.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and workforce analytics tools (Workday and ADP preferred).
