Senior Associate – Commercial & Contracts

Job Description:

1. Mission 

Lead commercial and contractual activities for assigned defence programmes, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, contractual obligations, and effective stakeholder communication across the contract lifecycle

2. Main Activities 

• Lead contract review, bid preparation, and commercial compliance matrices

• Interpret contract requirements, manage change and resolve conflict

• Maintain Contract trackers, milestones, and payment schedules 

• Analyze the risks, issues and opportunities of various contract terms and present them 

• Assist invoicing, documentation, and follow up actions to ensure timely receipt of payment 

• Coordinate with Legal, Finance, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams 

• Prepare clear commercial summaries, trackers, and presentations for internal reviews 

• Represent the company to diverse customers, including Government of India defense institutions with responsibility to develop and/or maintain effective working relationships with customer counterparts  

3. Skills & Competencies

• Strong business communication and negotiation capability 

• Proven stakeholder management across cross-functional and customer teams 

• Solid understanding of contract management and commercial risk

• Detail-oriented, compliance-focused, and structured working style

• High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality

• Proficiency in MS Office 

• Knowledge of Defence Acquisition Procedure (DAP) and Defence Procurement Manual (DPM) of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India with specific reference to Standard Contract Document Terms & Conditions.  ​

4. Qualification & Experience ​

• Bachelor's degree (Engineering / Law / Management / Commerce); 

• Postgraduate qualification in Law or Management would strengthen candidature 

• 4-5 years of experience in Defence, aerospace, or regulated project environments 

5. Functional Reporting

• Reports to: Commercial & Contracts Manager
