We are looking for a Technical Training Specialist to design, develop, and deliver IT training programs supporting project. This position will be a full-time contract role and onsite, supporting multiple locations throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
What You'll Do
Design, develop, and deliver technical training through classroom instruction, video-based learning, seminars, and computer-based training (CBT)
Support implementation and migration from Trapeze to HASTUS
Attend and successfully complete the Train-the-Trainer program for Daily Operations and Bidding
Develop training materials including presentations, manuals, videos, job aids, and CBT resources
Provide ongoing support to Digital Modernization (DM), Bus Operations, and Rail Scheduling Operations teams
Assess training effectiveness through evaluations, feedback, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with subject matter experts, Digital Modernization teams, HR, and Payroll personnel to align training initiatives with business objectives
Identify training gaps and resolve training-related issues
Explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to diverse audiences
Support ten Rail Divisions and nine Bus Divisions during deployment and adoption activities
What You'll Need
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
10+ years of experience developing and designing technical training content
10+ years of experience delivering technical systems training
10+ years of curriculum development experience
8+ years of experience creating training materials, including presentations, manuals, videos, and computer-based training programs
2+ years of experience working with Transit Scheduling and Daily Operations systems such as Trapeze and/or HASTUS
Strong understanding of technical systems and related technologies
Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and instructional skills
Ability to learn and support HASTUS scheduling and operational processes
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Preferred:
Experience supporting public transportation, transit, rail, or bus operations
Prior experience with large-scale enterprise system implementations or migrations
Experience supporting workforce training initiatives across multiple operational divisions
Familiarity with change management and organizational adoption strategies
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings and training sessions
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
Ability to deliver classroom instruction and facilitate training sessions across multiple WMATA locations

$35 - $40.50 per horThe pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
