Job Description
What You’ll Do
Own and evolve global Commercial category strategies aligned to business priorities and growth objectives
Act as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, influencing decisions through data-driven insights and market intelligence
Create a unified Procurement engagement model, ensuring consistent stakeholder experience across regions and functions
Identify and deliver initiatives that generate value beyond cost savings, including innovation, risk mitigation, and supplier performance
Translate business needs into scalable category strategies and sourcing plans
Drive adoption of preferred supplier programs and ensure measurable impact through defined KPIs and dashboards
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key global suppliers and external stakeholders
Lead complex negotiations and oversee high-value contracts within critical categories
Leverage deep market expertise to benchmark, assess supplier capabilities, and bring best practices into Gilead
Lead, coach, and develop a team of procurement leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous growth
Establish clear priorities, operating rhythms, and communication cadences with executive stakeholders
Champion new ways of working to increase agility, scale, and effectiveness across Procurement
Establish performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting to ensure transparency and delivery against strategic goals
Provide executive-level updates, proactively addressing risks, timelines, and dependencies
Partner with Risk, Inclusion, and Sustainability teams to embed responsible sourcing into category strategies
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and 14+ years of relevant experience
ORMaster’s Degree and 12+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent)
Deep experience in Commercial procurement, marketing categories, or agency management
Strong analytical capabilities with experience using tools such as Excel, Tableau, SAP, or Ariba
Proven ability to translate market intelligence and spend analytics into actionable strategies
Experience driving enterprise transformation and procurement operating model evolution
Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver executive-level presentations
Demonstrated success building supplier partnerships focused on innovation, quality, and long-term value
Experience integrating sustainability, supplier diversity, and risk management into procurement strategies
