This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. This temporary position is located in 932 Old US  70 Highway - Buncombe County with the Department of Health and Human Services.

 
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $20.82 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).  
 
Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification.  The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.  

Management Preferences:  

The primary purpose of the Restorative Care Aide falls under the supervision of a Nurse Supervisor.

This position serves as an extension to the therapists in the areas of:

• Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language.
• Position provides services, as warranted, in areas of mobility, dining, range of motion, therapeutic bathing, shaving, and/or hygiene.
• As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), this position serves as a liaison to other CNA's in providing leisure and social activities, basic care, and maintenance services in the residential areas served.
• Hourly wage based on education and documented work experience. 

The following KSA's are preferred:  

• Ability to follow directions.
• Work independently and show initiative.
• Ability to work with others as a team.
• Basic understanding of populations served, including neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorders.
• BMNTC is a 24-hour residential facility that serves adults with chronic and complex medical conditions that co-exist with neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorders often related to a diagnosis of severe and persistent mental illness or intellectual disability.

Minimum Education and Experience

High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Condition for Continued Employment

As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.

As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. As applicable, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
