Toyota Connected’s Labs team is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer who will use machine learning and statistical techniques to help us create state-of-the-art solutions for non-trivial, and arguably, unsolved problems. Responsibilities:
- Translate complex concepts from white papers into practical and efficient code implementations
- Write clean, maintainable code while complying with coding standards
- Share adopted architecture patterns or new technologies with the rest of teams
- Contribute to ML system design through writing and reviewing RFCs
- Actively participate in interview panels for more junior MLEs
- Regularly serve as a reviewer on merge requests
- Catch necessary unit/integration tests for other's code contributions as part of code review
- Execute full modeling life cycle including data cleansing, feature creation and iterative model selection
- Build scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analysis, model development, model validation and model implementation
- Stay abreast of developments in research methodology and changing technologies in the marketplace and proactively identify applications of these latest developments to improve existing methods
- Work in a fast-paced Agile Scrum environment to assist in prototyping, designing, and implementing predictive models and algorithms to create real world solutions
- Use statistical, machine learning, and deep learning techniques to create scalable solutions and perform R&D to drive discovery of new generation products
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Machine Learning in a corporate environment
- Experience programming in Python
- Experience working with Tensorflow or PyTorch
- Experience with NLP
- Familiar with algorithm design and complexity analysis
- Experience implementing solutions in a cloud environment (AWS or Azure)
- Experience in designing and implementing Machine Learning pipelines in production environments
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to analyze data, assess risks, and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify challenges, develop creative solutions, and implement effective strategies
- Proven ability to learn and apply new technologies, programming practices, patterns, and methods
- Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and product owners
- Experience taking ownership of assigned projects and tasks, proactively driving them to completion while ensuring accountability for quality and deadlines.
