Position Objective

  • Microsoft 365 Security Engineer to form part of the Technical Cyber Security team to provide technical expertise in the support of MS security infrastructure and services.
  • Helping to mitigate risks associated with Microsoft 365 security infrastructure and acting as a trusted advisor to the Team.
  • This is a proactive role, and the successful candidate will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and a desire to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver subject matter expertise of Microsoft 365 with emphasis in security, architectural design, migration, management and support of implementations.
  • Provide overall Microsoft 365 security expertise including strong knowledge of Azure Active Directory, Microsoft cloud app security, Azure Information Protection, Data loss prevention, Information Rights Management, Intune (Conditional access/ MDM), single sign-on and multi-factor authentication and related technologies (including Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security).
  • Demonstrate consultative capabilities by providing value added information to clients for connecting technology, security and the business value of Microsoft 365.
  • Lead in ongoing M365 security projects and strategy discussions.
  • Stay abreast of all developments in Microsoft 365, including changes & updates, roadmap & releases, and third-party solutions.
  • Document Security procedures, guidelines, training material and best practices.

Critical Success Factors

  • Reviewing existing MS security policies in relevant MS Azure portals and implementing security remediations.
  • Identification of security risks and threats to the Group.
  • Identification of potential new controls that can be introduced to maintain sustainable security posture.

Academic Qualification

  • BE/BTech Computer Science/Information Security degree preferred
  • Relevant Microsoft cloud security certifications such as:
  • MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator Associate)
  • SC 200 (Security Operation Analyst)
  • SC 300 (Identity & Access Administrator)
  • SC 400 (Information Protection Administrator)

Experience

  • Total experience 4 – 8 yrs.
  • Hands-on experience with MS security solutions as:
  • Microsoft Intune (Must Have – Minimum 3 years: MDM/MAM/Endpoint Security policy deployment)
  • Expert-level troubleshooting experience of Intune enrolment issues (Must have)
  • Graph API (Must Have – Minimum 2-3 years)
  • M365 Defender & KQL (Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in building KQL queries for reporting and threat hunting)
  • Azure AD Identity protection - Defender for Cloud Apps & Shadow IT
  • Defender for Office
  • AI and Data Security (MS purview/DSPM/AI security & Governance)
  • single sign-on and multi-factor authentication and related technologies (including Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security)
  • An excellent knowledge of Information Security principles and an understanding of the Cyber Kill Chain, MITRE ATT&CK and other information security defence and intelligence frameworks.
  • Experience with scripting PowerShell (Must have for automating tasks)
  • Experience with M365 tenant permissions (Tenant \ Security & Compliance Center \ Exchange Online)
  • Experience with MS Clients (Outlook, Outlook for Mac, IMAP, POP3, Mobile Devices) and OneDrive for Business.
