Your New Role...

The Director, Studio Operations will lead the in-house Operations and Production Technology teams responsible for the day-to-day functionality of the studio’s facilities, workplace environment, and administrative infrastructure. Scope includes space planning, oversight of technology and related initiatives, asset and vendor management, security and maintenance coordination, shipping and receiving, purchasing, Corporate Real Estate and landlord relations, employee and guest services, studio activities, and overall workplace experience.

The Director will serve as the primary liaison with WBD and third-party IT partners, ensuring strong coordination, policy compliance, and continuous process improvement across the studio’s technology and facilities footprint. The role also oversees planning and execution of all-studio events and communications, while partnering closely with cross-functional teams including Production, IT, P&C, Artist Management, Finance, Legal, Corporate Real Estate, and Global Security to ensure the studio operates smoothly and supports the needs of artists, production teams, and executives.

Your Role Accountabilities...

Facilities & Operations Management

  • Lead the in-house Operations team supporting all animation studio administrative functions, ensuring seamless day-to-day facilities, workplace experience, procurement, shipping/receiving, and logistics support for artists and executives, with a focus on practical, thoughtful solutions that meet studio needs.

  • Proactively manage space planning and physical onboarding/offboarding for productions and studio staff, maintaining documentation while leading the facilities team on workspace forecasting, utilization, and assignment processes.

  • Prepared to be on call 24/7/365 for facilities and technology escalations, with timely reporting as necessary and ownership of root-cause analysis and post-issue follow-through

  • Drive and implement facility improvement opportunities, while proactively working with Studio leaders to build and execute enhancements together.

  • Manage studio signage and WBA presence across building e-boards, partnering with Marketing to source assets and Workplace Experience to program in line with promotional strategy.

Production Technology

  • Oversee the team responsible for end-user technology support, including software and hardware management, procurement, and AV support for studio staff and related events/initiatives.

  • Ensure coordination across onboarding and offboarding workflows and distribution list management.

  • Serve as key liaison with WBD and third-party IT partners, driving continuous process improvement and alignment with WBD policies and best practices.

  • Partner with third-party IT providers to support production technology needs, maintain alignment with WBD/WBA policy, and provide end-user production support as requested.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for conferencing and VTC deployments, including room builds, troubleshooting, and establishing regular testing.

Planning, Events & Studio Support

  • Play a leadership role in planning and executing all-studio events and activities, while supporting events led by partner teams such as Artist Management. Oversee the Studio Staff Culture Club and maintain a regular cadence of employee engagement and culture-building programming.

  • Manage and produce studio communications such as newsletters, internal documentation, welcome guides, calendars, and other related materials.

  • Work closely with Corporate Real Estate and Security teams to ensure best-in-class facility standards, processes, execution, documentation, and team management in accordance with corporate plans and guidance.

  • Be creative and entrepreneurial, constantly think about new ways to improve overall Studio operations and employee/artist happiness

Strategy, Budgeting & Continuous Improvement

  • Support VP in managing overhead budgets, including annual forecasting, pacing and reporting, and scoping of CapEx and special projects.

  • Partner closely with the VP to identify, scope, and drive strategic operations projects, and lead efforts that strengthen and streamline various studio processes.

Qualifications & Experience...

Work Experience

  • 6+ years of in operations, technology, facilities management, or general management

  • IT management experience is a plus.

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Knowledge/Skills

  • Working knowledge of space planning and Corporate Real Estate practices, including workplace strategy and space utilization.

  • Understanding of animation production pipelines, networking and server fundamentals, and production hardware and software.

  • Strong working knowledge of end-user technology, production environments, and workplace systems.

  • Proven experience managing and developing teams, with a collaborative leadership style and strong ownership mindset.

  • Strong operational rigor and business acumen, with excellent problem-solving and project management skills.

  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and executional levels with strong attention to detail.

  • Strong financial modeling and deck-building skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Keynote, PowerPoint, Excel, Smartsheet, Adobe products, and MacOS/Windows.

  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity; resourceful, coachable, and proactive.

  • Genuine appreciation for animation and the creative process.

  • Please note this is a fully on-site role based in Burbank, CA.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $115,500.00 - $214,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
