Description of Work

Are you a compassionate and dedicated caregiver ready to make a meaningful impact? Join the NC Department of Adult Correction as a CNA I, where you’ll work alongside healthcare professionals to provide essential care and support to patients in a secure, structured environment.

What You’ll Do:
• Support RNs, LPNs, and Health Care Technicians with patient care tasks, including:
• Obtaining vital signs, weight, and height.
• Preparing patients for examinations.
• Assist patients with daily activities such as feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulation, and repositioning.
• Safely transport patients as needed.
• Observe and report patient conditions to nursing staff.
• Collect and label specimens (blood, urine, feces, and sputum) within your scope of practice.
• Maintain a clean and organized patient environment, including changing linens and making beds.
Engage with patients in therapeutic and recreational activities, particularly in mental health settings

Pay rate is $20/hour with no benefits included

Temporary Role: 11 months with a 31-day break; renewal opportunities available.

Location: Statewide –variation of shift assignments according to facility; therefore, the availability of specific shifts will be discussed during the interview process.
