Summary of Responsibilities
- System Support by maintaining and troubleshooting all aspects of process control systems, including hardware, software, and interfaces.
- Modify systems to accommodate new inputs or implement ideas for continuous improvement.
- Address issues that may impact production or system reliability.
- Maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading SQL Server databases
- Maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading virtual server environments (Vcenter, Hyper-V, etc.)
- Oversee real-time computer control and monitoring of coke plant processes.
- Maintain and upgrade computer hardware and software, including modernization of existing systems.
- Administer operating systems such as Windows, Apple iOS, and Cisco.
- Work with networking technologies, including Cisco and Palo Alto, high-speed data transmission, and specialty computer interfaces.
- Participate in project work, including planning, engineering design, hardware configuration, software development, testing, and system start-up.
- Stay informed of quality and reliability issues and work with vendors to address product and performance concerns.
- Remain current with advancements in industrial control technologies.
- Configure HMI screens using FactoryTalk View Site Edition and Machine Edition.
- Perform Data Analysis on production data using Power BI.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience and/or certification (CCNA, etc.).
- Familiarity with Windows, Android, and iOS operating systems.
- Basic understanding of computer networking and routing.
- Knowledge of process control systems, including SCADA, HMI, PLCs, drives, PID loop control, and control communication strategies.
- Manufacturing or steel industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 years of engineering experience in an industrial environment.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python, Java, FORTRAN, Visual Basic, and SQL.
- Demonstrated ability to create, modify, and troubleshoot complex control logic and advanced control applications.
- Experience with front-end and back-end web development (html, CSS, JavaScript and SQL Server databases).
