About The Team:
As an Analyst within Americas Deal Hub, you will partner with FIS’ Capital Markets and Banking divisions providing deal support to Sales and Commercial Pricing teams with deal analysis, revenue recognition and policy guidance, and working with legal teams through contract negotiations to ensure pricing, margins, and financial viability of commercial activities are achieved and reflected in contracts. You will also assist the Head of Deal Hub, Americas with high visibility projects like targeted revenue acceleration initiatives and preparing materials for executive presentations and process design and improvements.
About The Role:
This role forms part of the Commercial Finance team, covering the whole of FIS. Commercial Finance supports the Commercial organization with clear guidance on deal structuring, revenue recognition considerations to maximize revenue, cash flow and protection of recurring revenue through proactive deal oversight. Together with Sales Finance we also provide insights and deal intelligence into the forecasting process to better forecast sales to revenue conversion. We collaborate with product Finance and Accounting to ensure accuracy of forecasts and accounting records. You will also be key to analyzing current processes, suggest and design process and tool improvements or changes, leveraging automation and AI-driven solutions to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness of Commercial Finance. You will be assisting in the preparation of materials for presentations to senior executives.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Act as a finance partner through commercial aspects of client engagements to ensure deals are structured in a financially viable and repeatable manner on pricing, margins, deal structure and revenue recognition treatment for multi-faceted software license and services contracts
- Work closely with the commercial teams, lines of business, regional sales teams, Segment and Line of Business finance leads, legal department, and Revenue Assurance to achieve optimal outcomes for FIS
- Ensure the appropriate revenue recognition for all revenue arrangements under US GAAP and company policy, escalate revenue recognition issues accordingly to Head of Regional Deal Hub and Corporate Revenue Assurance
- Proactively seek out and profile non-standard deals in the pipeline, coordinate reviews with stakeholders in the Groups and drive value through pricing and contract structuring
- Highlight complex, material bids that require Deal Review Committee approval and coordinate preparation of material with sales to ensure deal review meetings are well planned and effective
- Liaise with Corporate Finance, internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audit, as required
- Analyze existing processes, suggest and design process and tool improvements or changes, leveraging automation and AI-driven tools and solutions to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness of the Commercial Finance function
- Plan and develop an innovation strategy that can act as our guiding principles for modernization of our function, including the use of technology such as automation, AI, team training.
- Assist with the preparation of executive-level presentations, helping to ensure high quality messaging and driving outcome
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree is required, Finance/ Accounting highly preferred
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Solid technical accounting skills with specific knowledge and application of current and future state revenue recognition guidance (ASC606)
- A coordinator of process and a trusted advisor experienced at solving problems with clear, constructive advice
- A clear thinker able to make decisions within intense time pressured scenarios
- Ability to network within a complicated, matrix organizational environment to promote the benefit and success of the Deal Hub and display superior collaboration skills
- Proficiency in reporting, automation and AI-driven tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, Copilot Studio etc.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience partnering with a wide range of functions and stakeholders around commercial deal activity
