Job Description

Job Title: Warehouse Senior Technician

Position Summary:
The Warehouse Senior Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and safety of warehouse operations. This position supports daily shipping activities by preparing and verifying pick slips, overseeing order accuracy, maintaining inventory integrity, and promoting a safe working environment. The role also requires proficiency in ERP systems and coordination with external logistics partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Order Preparation & Verification
    • Prepare and distribute daily pick slips for warehouse technicians to fulfill shipment orders
    • Inspect completed orders against pick slips and sign off on accuracy prior to shipment
    • Ensure all shipments meet quality and accuracy standards
  • ERP & System Operations
    • Learn and effectively utilize the ERP system (FSD) for order processing and shipment tracking
    • Receive incoming orders and generate pick slips within the system
    • Enter and manage shipment data, including full trailer load entries, in online databases
  • Shipping & Logistics Coordination
    • Communicate with external freight carriers to arrange pickups via email, phone, or web portals
    • Coordinate timely shipment scheduling to meet delivery requirements
    • Maintain accurate documentation for all outbound shipments
  • Safety Oversight
    • Monitor warehouse operations to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures
    • Report safety violations and recommend improvements to enhance workplace safety
    • Assist in implementing updated safety practices and procedures
  • Inventory Management
    • Support and help ensure completion of regular warehouse cycle counts
    • Verify accuracy of inventory counts and assist in resolving discrepancies
    • Maintain proper inventory records and organization

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years previous warehouse or logistics experience, preferably in a senior or lead role
  • Familiarity with ERP systems or ability to quickly learn (experience with FSD a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods
  • Capability to lift and move materials in accordance with safety guidelines
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying conditions

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $18.54–$27.81.
