position is for 5 days a week. 10a-630p every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Pay Range

$19.80 - $29.70

Major Responsibilities: Prepares all cold items and light bakery accurately for patients, cafe,and catering. 1)Follows standardized recipes to ensure good quality and adequate quantities for all meal programs. 2)Notifies appropriate individual regarding any possible deviations in cold production compliances and processes. Active participant in offering possible solutions. Documents appropriately. 3)Adheres to all departments food safety standards and processes. Documents and takes action when standards (ie temperatures, labeling, food rotation) are not met. 4)Adheres to all cold food production standards (ie par sheets, food waste) Documents and takes action when standards are not met. 5)Adhers to all department cold productions standards related to time schedules (ie food ready on time, proper cooling, preparation times,) Adheres to department safety,sanitation, service/communications standards. 1)Practices safety and sanitation that meet department standards. Use corrrect body mechanics in the performance of duties. 2)Utilizes all chemicals according to the department and manufacturer guidelines. Practicing a "clean as you go " in day to day task assignments 3)Demonstrates accuracy and clarity in both verbal and written communications. 4)Demonstrates sound decision making. Takes responsibilty for decision making. Requires minimal supervision. 5)Attendance at meetings, inservices, and training sessions. Completes CBT, flu shot and other completion of other hospital requirements. 6)Follows hospital and department dress code standards. 7)Additional or other duties may be assigned based on daily needs of depart (trayline, dishroom, cafe ) Education/Experience Required: High School Diploma. 1 yr. food service experience - preferr hospital cold prep experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Good verbal skills. Ability to read & follow a recipe. Basic computer and math skills N/A Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: -100% or the time is spent standing and walking. -Ability to lift on a daily basis - 15 - 25 pounds. -Equipment used - mixers, chef knife, tomato slicers, Hobart slicers, Cuisinarts and convection ovens. This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For lifts over 35 pounds, lifting equipment is expected to be used or lift with at least one other associate when available. Unique lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case by case basis. This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent.
