What you will do:
The Machinist I role at Stryker supports CNC and manual machining operations by producing precision metal components that contribute to life‑saving medical technologies. This position involves operating manufacturing equipment, ensuring data accuracy, communicating across teams, and supporting quality and production goals in a safety‑focused environment.
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC and/or manual machining equipment to produce parts that meet engineering and quality specifications.
- Actively work on machines in a manufacturing environment, ensuring consistent output, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and basic engineering drawings.
- Perform routine quality checks using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and document results as required.
- Identify and escalate equipment issues, quality concerns, or deviations from standard work.
- Support 5S, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives within the machining area.
- Collaborate with team leads, engineers, and quality partners to meet production and quality goals.
What you need:
Required:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience actively working on machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated hands-on machining experience (CNC or manual) in a production setting.
- Ability to work assigned shifts, including weekends, overtime, and holidays as required by production needs.
Preferred:
- Machinist Certification from an accredited technological or vocational school.
- Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments (medical device, aerospace, automotive, etc.).
- Familiarity with basic GD&T concepts.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly (occasional lifting up to 75 lbs. as required with assistance).
- Ability to perform prolonged standing and physical movements including bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Requires repetitive hand use, manual dexterity, and hand–eye coordination.
- Ability to safely operate manufacturing machinery.
- Work environment may include loud noise and requires use of PPE in designated areas.
$23.80/hr + $1.00 Shift Differential, plus bonus eligible and benefits.
