What you'll be doing
As a member of CIBC’s insurance project delivery team, the Senior Business Analyst, Project Delivery is a critical partner in driving business outcomes by bridging business needs with effective solutions. You will lead and facilitate requirements elicitation and user story sessions with cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring clarity, alignment, and actionable outcomes. Leveraging your strong domain understanding of Insurance, you will translate complex business needs into structured artifacts and support prioritization and delivery of high-value initiatives. You will manage ambiguity, reconcile conflicting requirements, and prepare executive-ready materials that drive informed decision-making. Your role is business-led, focused on value delivery and a strong partnership with the Product team.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed
Strategic Business Partner and Advisor – Lead and facilitate requirements elicitation and user story working sessions with cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring clear outcomes and alignment. Drive prioritization conversations with the Product team to distinguish “must-haves” vs. “nice-to-haves”, including defining scope boundaries, assumptions, and dependencies. Partner closely with Product to support outcomes and value delivery, maintaining a business-led focus.
Expert Analyst – Translate business needs into well-structured artifacts, supporting as necessary backlog refinement and readiness for sprint execution. Manage and reconcile conflicting requirements and ambiguous inputs by applying structured analysis, documenting decisions, and securing stakeholder buy-in. Bring strong domain understanding of Insurance to inform requirements, customer journeys, and business rules.
Executive Communication & Influence – Prepare and deliver clear, executive-ready materials (summaries, options, trade-offs, risks, recommendations) and present updates and decisions to senior stakeholders. Support transparent decision-making by summarizing complex information and facilitating consensus.
Relationship & Stakeholder Management – Build and maintain productive relationships with Product partners, Technology and cross-functional teams. Foster collaboration and alignment across all stakeholder groups, ensuring shared understanding and commitment to outcomes.
Who you are
You can demonstrate experience. 5+ years’ experience in business analysis and/or project management. Insurance domain experience and knowledge is a strong asset.

Well-developed communication and interactive skills to convey factual and conceptual information on issues requiring detailed explanation/interpretation and communication at all levels in the organization.
