Position Title: Epidemiologist – Electronic Case Reporting (eCR) Evaluation

Overview:
The CDC Foundation is seeking an Epidemiologist to evaluate Electronic Case Reporting (eCR) data and support Utah’s measles outbreak response. This role will analyze complex, high-volume clinical data to identify key insights on disease transmission, patient risk factors, and intervention effectiveness, while validating and enhancing traditional case investigation data. The Epidemiologist will play a critical role in transforming eCR data into actionable intelligence to strengthen real-time public health decision-making and response efforts.
Qualifications:
· Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or a related field required
· Experience with communicable disease surveillance
· Experience analyzing and validating electronic health data (e.g., eCR, EHRs)
· Strong statistical and analytical skills
· Experience working with large, complex datasets
· Ability to translate data into actionable public health insights
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities:
· Systematically analyze complex, high-volume Electronic Case Reporting (eCR) data feeds to extract detailed clinical and demographic insights regarding the measles outbreak.
· Lead the evaluation of eCR data utility by comparing it against traditional case investigation records to validate accuracy and identify high-value data points.
· Identify and map common patient risk factors and clinical care timelines to better understand the dynamics of disease transmission and intervention effectiveness.
· Transform raw clinical data into "actionable intelligence," ensuring insights are integrated directly into the UDHHS response efforts.
