Job Description
Lead the definition and governance of EFT payment solution and business architecture, aligning it to strategy, regulation, and business value across the end-to-end payments value chain. This role translates payments strategy into an integrated capability blueprint and target operating model covering initiation, processing, clearing, settlement, overlay and value-added services, and compliance. The Solutions Architect represents the payments domain in governance forums and drives alignment on a unified, customer-centric payments vision.Job Description / Key Responsibilities:
- Payments Platform Strategy & Architecture: Define and maintain the target-state business architecture and capability model for the payments platform across key payment types in SA and Africa, aligned to strategy, customer value, and core functional and non-functional needs.
- Industry Standards & Compliance: Champion ISO 20022 and related standards, ensuring the architecture remains scheme-agnostic, compliant, and ready for regulatory, scheme, AML, and risk change.
- Solution Delivery & Value Realisation: Oversee business planning and rollout of payment solutions, define success measures, drive business readiness, and track delivery of intended outcomes and benefits.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Alignment: Bridge business and technology teams, represent the payments capability in governance forums, and build strong relationships across internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Leadership & Governance: Provide leadership across the payments platform, support team capability where relevant, oversee financial planning, and ensure architecture decisions meet enterprise governance and compliance requirements.
Minimum Requirements and Experience:
- Extensive Payments Domain Experience: 8+ years in payments-focused business roles, with a strong track record of delivering payment solutions or platform capabilities at scale.
- Payments Value Chain Expertise: Deep understanding of the end-to-end payments value chain, including initiation, processing, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and related risk and compliance processes.
