Job Summary
Responsible for facilitation of the design, development, implementation, and delivery of high impact, cost effective technical education to provide employees with knowledge and skills required for current job responsibilities and advancement opportunities. Incorporate human performance concepts, safety, policies, procedures and common work practices into learning and training. Coordinate and conduct learning and training in collaboration with business unit management and corporate groups to meet organizational goals.Employees in this position are industry experts that demonstrate competency, knowledge, and skillset through achieved results. They are training in the classroom, researching new methods, and developing new training. They help to onboard and mentor other instructors.
Job Description
Distribution Line Training Supervisor (Distribution Technical Training Supervisor):
What You'll Do:
- Responsible for the development, communication, and implementation of a learning strategy by conducting learning/training needs assessments.
- Forecast, plan and analyze for learning and training needs based on demographics and staffing changes.
- Consult with management and employees on learning and training priorities.
- Facilitate scheduling, coordination and improvement processes.
- Develop and Communicate training calendar, courses and learning opportunities to management teams and employees.
- Teach, instruct, facilitate and evaluate learning and training activities including rules, knowledge, information, job skills, job/task demonstrations; and proctoring tests, assessments and evaluations.
- Lead improvement teams and instructor development.
- Coordinate the design and development of technical curriculums, courses and training resources including instructor-led and online course content, presentations, manuals, handouts, job aids, games, job task analysis documents, job performance measures, hands-on demonstrations and assessments/tests. Incorporate human performance concepts, safety, AEP/industry best practices and lessons learned into training.
- Utilize industry best practices to lead the research and selection of appropriate training resources and tools.
- Lead improvements and updates of training resources. Identify, negotiate, and coordinate with vendors as required.
- Develop collaborative working relationships with internal management team and employees.
- Establish new relationships with external partners and vendors.
- Engage in external outreach including recruiting events and tours.
- Develop and analyze metrics to measure success.
- Apply expert proficiency to identify, analyze, design, and initiate solutions to highly complex problems requiring specialized knowledge and /or problem-solving techniques.
- Identify industry needs and lead system wide teams and initiatives to deep dive into solutions.
- Actively engage with industry platforms to share information and gain insights.
- Serves as an industry expert in targeted areas.
What We're Looking For:
Education:
- High School graduate/GED.
Experience:
- 12 years of related work experience with 5 years of leadership or training experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- CDL may be required for some locations/positions.
