Job Description

Merge is the leading provider of agentic tools and customer-facing integrations for frontier LLMs, Fortune 500 organizations, and B2B SaaS companies. Our platform offers two core products: Merge Unified, which enables businesses to add hundreds of integrations to their products with a single API, and Merge Agent Handler, which empowers AI agents with secure access to thousands of third-party tools. Merge's enterprise-grade platform handles the entire integration lifecycle, from authentication and security to monitoring and maintenance. Thousands of companies trust Merge to accelerate product development, unblock sales, reduce customer churn, and save engineering resources—allowing them to focus on their core product.

Merge builds the infrastructure that connects AI agents and B2B products to the rest of the world. We're looking for a designer who is passionate about the craft, genuinely obsessed with how AI is changing what's possible, and who moves fast because of it. You see problems before they're assigned to you, you use every tool available to work through them, and you don't stop until they're solved.

What You Will Do:

  • Navigate ambiguity: Take high-level business goals and fuzzy problems and turn them into concrete, elegant designs that uplevel our products and delight our customers
  • Operate with high agency: Identify gaps in our product or process before they become issues and drive solutions to completion without needing a roadmap handed to you
  • Be a cultural force: Act as a highly opinionated advocate for the user, pushing the team to uphold an exceptionally high bar for polish and simplicity
  • Scale the craft: Contribute to the systems, standards, and rituals that level up the whole team
  • Move fast: Work closely across the product and engineering teams to unblock decisions and ship daily

What We Are Looking For:

  • 2–4 years of product design experience, with at least one product that has real complexity; conditional states, non-deterministic systems, error handling and multiple users
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating deep systems thinking and visual craft. Case studies demonstrate end-to-end thinking and illustrate business impact. Experience with building and maintaining a design system in Figma and code.
  • AI-native: you've thoughtfully integrated generative AI into your process and know how to build with a sophisticated, polished UX with prompts. You have a deep understanding of the latest tools and techniques and have a point of view on where it's taking the discipline.
  • You are a fast, scrappy thinker who'd rather show something rough in two hours than a polished spec in two days. You enjoy thinking on your feet and can adapt your process when timelines and requirements change.
  • Strong engineering, product, and brand relationships: you speak the language and understand others' goals and constraints. . . You can articulate rationale and ask thoughtful questions that build trust with teammates. You are happy to take things off people's plates and have a can-do attitude.
  • Genuine obsession: you have opinions about good design outside of work, you've been deeply invested in something before, and you're not just here for a line on your resume

Compensation

  • The cash compensation range for this role is $150,000 - $170,000.
  • Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications. In addition to cash compensation, all employees receive an equity compensation package.
