About the role

Radiance is seeking a highly qualified and motivated radar engineer or computer scientist to serve as a Radar System Modeling and Simulation Analyst for foreign air and missile defense weapon systems. The candidate will work with system engineers and other modelers to review, update, test, and document changes to radar models based on finished all-source intelligence products, ensuring the models meet technical and performance specifications and perform as required. To achieve this, the candidate will need to have a good understanding of radar theory, a solid foundation in modeling and simulation, and working knowledge of analysis tools such as Matlab/Simulink.

The candidate:

  • Will communicate and collaborate effectively and efficiently with other technical government and contractor engineers and scientists.
  • Will present findings and recommendations to appropriate groups and help determine actionable steps based on the findings.
  • Will prepare written, technical reports to management, indicating analytical findings that will be used to support the Intelligence Community.
  • May provide work leadership and training to lower level professional and technical staff.
  • May supervise junior staff and schedule work to meet completion dates.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or relevant technical field
  • US citizenship with a TS/SCI clearance and CI poly
  • Expertise in radar operations with a good understanding of radar theory.
  • Ability to perform exploratory analysis and research, and present results to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate successfully with other internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to succinctly describe complex technical scenarios in simple, easily understood terms
  • Strong analytic, inference, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills

Required Experience:

  • At least three years’ experience with radar systems
  • Prior experience characterizing radar systems based on incomplete information
  • Experience with or extensive knowledge of modeling radars

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous ITEAMS experience
  • Experience supporting US Government S&TI Centers
