Job Description

About the role
We’re looking for a Senior SDET / QA Automation Engineer to join our Bengaluru team, working on EquiLend Spire, our flagship securities finance platform powering front-to-back trade lifecycle workflows across global markets.

This is a hands-on automation-first role. You’ll be responsible for designing, building and scaling automated test frameworks, embedding quality throughout the SDLC, and enabling continuous testing in a CI/CD environment.

You’ll work closely with engineering, product and DevOps to ensure high-quality, resilient releases across a complex, enterprise-grade fintech platform.

What you'll do

  • Design, write and maintain functional test cases based on business requirements and user stories.
  • Create and maintain BDD feature files using Cucumber, with well-defined scenarios in Gherkin syntax.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and/or Playwright.
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and early defect detection.
  • Execute test cycles covering functional and edge-case scenarios to make sure releases are solid.
  • Identify, log, track and manage defects in Jira, with clear documentation so issues get resolved quickly.
  • Work with developers, product owners and other stakeholders to translate requirements into practical test scenarios.
  • Contribute to improving test frameworks, processes and quality engineering practices.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of commercial experience in software quality engineering or QA automation.
  • Proficient in Java, JavaScript, Python and SQL.
  • Strong grasp of testing fundamentals, including test case design and defect lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber and writing feature files in Gherkin.
  • Practical experience with Selenium or Playwright in a commercial environment.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar defect tracking and test management tools.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work well within Agile teams.
  • Working knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies.

Why EquiLend?

  • Be recognized for your contribution through a discretionary annual cash bonus, linked to individual and company performance.
  • Work flexibly with up to 100 remote working days per year.
  • Take time to recharge with 30 days of paid leave per year, comprising paid, casual, and sick leave, plus public holidays.
  • Access comprehensive health insurance for you and your dependents from your first day.
  • Receive personal accident insurance from the start of your employment.
  • Connect with colleagues at an annual company-sponsored team retreat, hosted at a new location each year.
  • If relocating from more than 40 miles away, receive hotel accommodation and travel ticket reimbursement.
