A role in Corporate Real Estate means the opportunity to apply your efficiencies in space planning, creativity in design and technical expertise across a wide range of facilities and projects. Your work will directly impact the everyday environment for teams who deliver the brand promise to our guests. Corporate design is a dynamic and ever-changing world which requires us to evolve in a “speed is life” fashion to support Target’s business strategies.
As a Sr. Designer, you will work on planning and design services for non-retail portfolio workspaces. Collaborate and coordinate with internal and external partners through assigned projects including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, construction and post-occupancy phases. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to: development of new workplace strategies; project resource planning and scheduling; managing cross functional teams on strategies and designs; presentation and collaboration with partners; and developing & maintaining partner/client relationships.
Principal duties and responsibilities include:
Support established portfolio plans to accommodate organizational change, team adjacencies and new initiatives.
Participate in regular programming meetings with leadership to understand strategies and initiatives requiring new, remodeled, or reconfigured space.
Inspect properties and develop cost-effective lifecycle refresh plans that enhance productivity and positively impact recruiting and retention.
Contribute to development and updating standards related to furniture, finishes, space allocation and guidelines for office environments.
Ensure adherence to standards and provide alternate solutions for variance requests.
Implement and drive consistent process criteria and best methods across non-retail portfolios.
Work through multiple projects at a time such as multi-year headquarters refresh design and proposal of strategic alignments. Manage assigned projects through implementation.
Apply knowledge of design, furniture and code requirements in developing solutions to client requests.
Evaluate, select and specify systems and ancillary furniture.

About you:
4 Year accredited degree (interior design or architecture)
3+ Years relevant experience (corporate facility design preferred)
Proficient with Building Codes
Experience with relevant computer design applications (AutoCAD, Revit, 3D Modeling/Rendering, PhotoShop, SmartSheet, Excel, etc.)
Ability to think strategically and challenge the status quo
Demonstrated ability to deliver results quickly
Experience executing programs with significant cross-functional representation
Excellent communication, presentation, organizational and project management skills
Proven analytical skills in relation to programming, space allocation, planning and design.
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at Target HQ MN facilities and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
