Job description:

Overall Job Purpose

The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reliable and scalable data pipelines and platforms that support reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making. This role focuses on implementing robust data solutions that integrate data from multiple sources, while ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility.

The position involves hands-on development of ETL processes, data models, and pipelines, working closely with platform, analytics, and business teams to deliver clean, structured, and timely data.

Specific Job Responsibility

Design, build, and maintain end to end data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and delivering data
Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines (batch and real-time)
Ensure seamless integration across IT, OT, and analytics platforms
Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of data platforms
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions aligned to business needs
Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions for business improvement.

Job Specific Competencies

Strong analytical skills and ability to analyse complex data sets and assist drive data-influenced decisions.
High level proficiency in Python and SQL
Experience with cloud-native services and platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, BigQuery)
Report writing
