Assembles mechanical units or fabricated parts to make sub-assemblies or complete products within routine and repetitive assembly operations. Uses various hand and power tools and operates equipment which may include jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, punch presses, riveting machines, circular shears, and drill presses in order to cut, file, fit, punch, ream, rivet, form, and/or assemble. Fits, aligns, calibrates, and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements. Monitors quality of products and raw materials. May read simple blueprints. Performs simple routine maintenance and cleaning. Determines and corrects minor machine malfunctions. Typically has 3-5 years of experience and works under broad supervision. Typical job titles include: Press Operator, Machine Operator, Maker/Packer.

2nd Shift  (M-F 3:30pm-12am)

Previous extrusion or wire and cable experience highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples for calibration
  • Calibrate wire, thermocouples
  • Interpret calibration data and prepare accurate calibration certificates
  • Perform calibration of wire and thermocouples across applicable temperature ranges to meet industry standards
  • Prepare ISO/IEC 17025-compliant calibration certificates
  • Set up and troubleshoot test equipment and components
  • Operate laboratory equipment safely and properly
  • Prioritize workload based on due dates and customer requirements
  • Analyze data and make informed decisions based on results
  • May lead or direct the work of others as needed
  • Apply knowledge of thermodynamics testing practices and procedures
  • Assist in other areas as required

Responsibilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 preferred standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of the organization
  • Experience with temperature measurement or thermocouples preferred
  • Minimum of two years of technical experience in a laboratory environment preferred
  • Manufacturing or production experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and basic math skills

Skills/Experience

  • Some manufacturing or production experience preferred (training provided for the right candidate)
  • Previous extrusion or wire and cable experience is a plus
  • Basic math skills (addition and subtraction)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality

Pay Range

  • $18.00- $21.00 (depending on experience and shift)
