Location: Adelaide, SA
The Opportunity:
KBR is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our Adelaide team, working on a diverse portfolio of transport and civil infrastructure projects across South Australia and nationally. This role offers the opportunity to take technical leadership across road, rail and water infrastructure projects while mentoring engineers and contributing to the continued growth of KBR’s transport capability.
You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering outcomes for major public and private sector clients, working within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Civil Engineer at KBR, you will:
Deliver concept and detailed design for a wide range of civil and transport infrastructure projects, including roads, rail, drainage and pavement works
Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and designers
Apply sound engineering judgement to resolve complex design challenges and conflicting requirements
Prepare and review technical reports, specifications and contract documentation
Manage and/or support project delivery to ensure outcomes are achieved within time, budget, quality and HSE requirements
Liaise with Project Managers and clients to understand needs and provide regular project updates
Manage aspects of design teams and contribute to resource planning
Support business development activities, including tender and proposal preparation
Act as Project Manager or Design Manager on selected projects, as required.
About You:
You will be a motivated and technically strong civil engineer who enjoys working collaboratively and taking ownership of outcomes. You will bring:
A degree qualification in Civil Engineering
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia
Significant experience delivering transport infrastructure projects, particularly road engineering
Strong technical capability in:
Road and pavement design and rehabilitation
Pavement condition assessments and field investigations
Civil infrastructure design for State Roads Authorities
Experience managing projects and design teams, including delivery to programme, budget and quality targets
Exposure to multi-disciplinary engineering environments
Experience within an engineering consultancy environment (highly regarded)
Construction supervision and tendering experience (advantageous)
