About the role

We're looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our Data Lakes Infrastructure team, reporting to The Director of Software Development. You'll play a critical role in building and scaling Nasdaq's big data pipeline infrastructure to support business-critical insights. You will design, implement, and optimize data lake solutions that power global markets. 

You'll thrive in this position if you're collaborative, technically driven, and passionate about working with cutting-edge big data technologies in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. 

What You'll Do 

  • Develop and optimize data pipelines using big data technologies to ensure accuracy, consistency, and performance. 

  • Design scalable solutions for extracting, transforming, and loading unstructured data for analysis. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features and resolve technical challenges. 

  • Monitor data pipeline infrastructure, performance, and implement improvements that support scalability. 

What You'll Bring 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. 

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with data platforms, analytics, or cloud environments. 

  • Proficiency with AWS (including EMR), big data tools, data lakes, and SQL-based databases. 

  • Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Python and Java with experience in ETL workflows. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage priorities in a collaborative environment. 

Nice to Have 

  • Familiarity with cloud security architecture and AWS services. 

  • Prior experience supporting production-grade systems in cloud environments. 

This position will be located in St. John's and Toronto and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
