About the role

As a Business Analysis – Specialist, and part of the Product Management team, you'll play a critical role in shaping how data is integrated, structured, and delivered across Nasdaq's Trade Surveillance platform, a globally deployed compliance solution supporting trading firms, exchanges, and regulators across multiple asset classes.

You'll thrive in this position if you're analytically driven, technically curious, and passionate about translating complex data and trading workflows into scalable, client-ready solutions. A hands-on, techno-functional approach is key to success in this role.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze data conversion pipelines to identify discrepancies, gaps, and mapping errors when transforming raw exchange feeds into internal schemas.

  • Author and maintain functional specifications, data requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for data solution implementations across all asset classes.

  • Manage the full requirements lifecycle right from intake and analysis through documentation, development handoff, QA validation, and release.

  • Investigate and define resolution paths for production issues and enhancement requests, coordinating with development and QA teams.

  • Partner with engineering teams to interpret system logic and configurations, ensuring accurate and complete requirement definition.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • 5+ years of experience in a data analysis, business analysis, or product analyst role within capital markets, financial technology, or a regulated trading environment.

  • Hands-on experience with market data structures, trading protocols, and order lifecycle workflows.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret technical implementations, including data pipelines and system logic.

  • Solid experience producing structured functional documentation, including data flows, specifications, and process maps.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence for task tracking, documentation, and collaboration.

  • Previous experience in a Trade Surveillance or compliance capacity.

  • Familiarity with SQL, data querying, or structured financial data formats.

This position will be located in Sydney, Australia, and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 2 days a week in-office, subject to change.

This is a permanent, full-time role so candidates should have full working rights in Australia. To be eligible to apply, you must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency status.
