About the role
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Operate multiple feed production systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Operate multiple automated feed production systems inclusive of batching, pelleting, grinding, and receiving.
- Must have the ability to keep all records in an orderly and presentable manner.
- Record and reconcile drug and micro-ingredient inventories as required.
- Must have the ability to be certified for forklift operation.
- Perform housekeeping duties as assigned by supervision.
- Must be able to perform duties effectively with minimal supervision.
- Must have the ability to cooperate with other mill and maintenance employees, as well as truck drivers.
- Collect feed samples as directed by supervision.
- Communicate to supervision any issues that interfere with plant production operations.
- Other duties as assigned by supervision.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Knowledge of feed mill manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Intermediate math (add, subtract, multiply and/or divide proportions, percentages, area, volume, etc.)
- Basic computer knowledge and usage skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
- Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
- Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
- Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl and bend
- Ability to lift and carry 50 - 60 lbs
- Constantly subject to dusty, hot environments
- Frequently work in loud environment requiring ear protection
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Ability to work at heights of 200+ ft
- Ability to operate a pallet jack with 2,000+ lbs. of material
