Job Description Summary

Job Description

The People Analytics Analyst transforms HR and workforce data into strategic insights that support data‑driven business decisions. As a Qlik Sense (Qlik) analytics expert, this role designs and delivers advanced dashboards, reports, and data solutions that enable leadership to understand workforce trends, risks, and opportunities. The Analyst partners with HR leadership and business stakeholders to define workforce metrics, support strategic planning, and communicate actionable insights.

While this role is not Workday‑centric, baseline knowledge and exposure to Workday reporting is required to understand source data, validate outputs, and collaborate effectively with HR and HRIS partners. The Analyst supports project delivery through high‑quality business analysis, identifies and implements improvement initiatives, ensures data governance and compliance, and continuously enhances the organization’s people analytics capabilities. The People Analytics Analyst also coaches less experienced team members and serves as a trusted analytics advisor across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Plan all business and technical aspects of data and analytics systems and platforms, with a primary focus on Qlik Sense / Qlik Cloud.

  • Understand system features, data structures, and dependencies across HR systems, including baseline familiarity with Workday reporting outputs.

  • Own maintenance, administration, and ongoing optimization of analytics platforms and datasets.

  • Perform complex statistical analysis and apply mining, modeling, and testing techniques to enable robust data analysis.

  • Support key components of the data management ecosystem, including data pipelines, reporting layers, and analytics models.

  • Interpret business needs and translate them into actionable analytics solutions at the business unit level.

  • Lead improvement initiatives within the span of control and manage implementation through completion.

  • Contribute to the design and execution of reporting strategies and visualization standards.

  • Build and deliver complex dashboards and reports, identifying and interpreting trends and patterns in workforce data.

  • Translate analytical insights into clear, actionable recommendations for HR and business leaders.

  • Serve as the primary subject‑matter expert for Qlik analytics, dashboards, and self‑service reporting.

  • Design and manage dashboards covering headcount, turnover, talent acquisition, total rewards, and other key HR areas.

  • Support strategic workforce planning initiatives, including scenario modeling and forecasting.

  • Partner with HR, Finance, and business leaders to define workforce KPIs aligned to organizational strategy.

  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership in a clear, compelling manner.

  • Champion HR data governance standards and reporting best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and data privacy requirements (e.g., EEO, GDPR, SOX).

  • Create and maintain documentation, metadata, and data dictionaries.

  • Document “as‑is” and “to‑be” processes and define analytics requirements to support future‑state capabilities.

  • Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Qlik, Tableau, Visier).

  • Troubleshoot data and system issues, taking ownership through resolution.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced experience with Qlik Sense / Qlik Cloud, including data modeling, scripting, dashboard development, and optimization.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Excel (Access a plus).

  • Experience integrating and analyzing data from HRIS, payroll, talent, and external data sources.

  • Baseline knowledge of Workday reporting, including familiarity with standard reports and HR data outputs.

  • Understanding of ETL processes, data transformations, and data validation techniques.

  • Experience with data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Qlik, Tableau, Visier).

  • Familiarity with statistical tools such as SPSS or SAS is a plus.

Knowledge / Skills

  • Advanced expertise in people and workforce analytics.

  • Strong understanding of HR data, metrics, and reporting standards.

  • In‑depth knowledge of HR ERP systems and analytics environments.

  • Understanding of business needs and practices within the financial services industry.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

  • Ability to identify, analyze, and interpret trends in complex datasets.

  • Working knowledge of basic statistical techniques (e.g., correlation, regression, T‑tests).

  • Ability to design data collection and analytics solutions that improve efficiency and data quality.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.

  • Ability to act independently while providing guidance and training to others.

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and project management skills.

  • High level of customer service and stakeholder engagement.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and adapt analytics approaches as needed.

  • Typically works independently and serves as an established analytics authority.
