Job Description:

Pratt & Whitney Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engines. EDSI is responsible for overall engine system definition, engine architecture & structural design as well as managing all requirements across the program

This role is for Engine Design & Integration Engineer to join our Core disciplines group at the Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center (IEC) in Bengaluru India. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the conceptual engine-level design trades for new engine programs. Knowledge of system level gas turbine operation is required.
  • Develop state-of-the art tools & design procedures for conceptual trade studies
  • Engine rotor dynamics assessment of advanced commercial engines.
  • Support the engine clearances & gapping process development.
  • Focal point/owner of advanced commercial engine parametric weight estimation.
  • System, sub-system level design trade studies to meet engine specifications.
  • Continue to develop an improved understanding of the technologies, engine systems, business systems, regulations and business needs of the company and customers.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Exhibit the project leadership in terms of milestones, schedules & quality of deliverables.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree (with 12+ year experience) or Advanced degree (with 10+ year experience) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Demonstrated business judgment, communication / presentation, results driven, adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial gas turbine engines
  • Confident / demonstrated communication skills including executive level written and oral presentation proficiency
  • Good engineering aptitude and ability to learn independently
  • Experience with geometric tolerance stacks
  • Thermal/structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience
  • Proficient in Siemens NX, Teamcenter (or similar CAD software)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office tools

Qualifications We Prefer

Demonstrated experience with Project Management processes, tools, and techniques, including knowledge and application of Agile, 6 Sigma, and/or similar continuous improvement operating systems

Siemens SimCenter experience, NXOpen experience

Visual Basic experience, Experience with Python.

Engine clearances/gapping experience

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.
