POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role is part of Alcon's Finance, Accounting, & Audit function, a team that advances Alcon's financial strategy and ensures fiscal responsibility as we transform the eye care industry.

The Sr. Associate I, Accounting & Reporting (Professional Path), is primarily responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records by calculating, posting, verifying, and reconciling transactions in line with standards. You will perform specialized tasks, conduct independent research, and contribute to project goals with your advanced skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be responsible for the accounting and reporting of inventory for the commercial entity

  • Prepare and post journals on inventory provision and adjustments accurately and within agreed timelines.

  • Coordinate with International Center of Excellence (COE) team who are managing the inventory provision calculation and understanding their working calculation and rationale

  • Manage material costing, costing release and investigate any issues on TPC and PPV

  • Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in accordance with close calendars and SLAs.

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items on Inventory related accounts.

  • Prepare and support financial statements and reporting requirements for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Analyze P&L and balance sheet movements on Inventory related accounts, providing clear and meaningful explanations.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.

  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to queries.

  • Identify and drive process improvements, standardization, and automation opportunities.

  • Support new entity onboarding, transitions, or process standardization as required.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Customer Operations, Warehouse Team, LDM, IC and Local Finance

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CA, or equivalent) preferred or in progress.

  • 2–5 years of relevant RTR experience in a Shared Services or multinational environment, supporting Inventory Management or equivalent

  • Strong experience in month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end accounting close activities.

  • Solid understanding of IFRS, company accounting policies, and audit requirements, with hands-on experience supporting internal and external audit requests.

  • Exposure to regional or global stakeholders and ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.

  • SAP closing and reporting experience is an advantage; strong Excel skills required.

  • Good knowledge of internal controls and compliance standards.

  • Proven ability to meet SLAs, KPIs, and quality standards with a strong attention to detail and audit-ready mindset.

  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrates ownership, accountability, independence, and a proactive continuous improvement mindset.
