This position is part of the rollout of a structured and ambitious Grouplevel framework dedicated to cost controlling for support functions (Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Procurement, Corporate). The objective is to equip the organization with a sustainable steering model for structural costs, strengthen operational efficiency, and provide strategic decisionmaking support. 

Key challenges include harmonizing and standardizing cost frameworks, ensuring data reliability, fully integrating cost controlling into management cycles, and becoming a true transformation partner for support functions. 

The Group Controlling Director will report to the SVP Group CFO. 

 

 

Create, structure and steer the Group cost controlling framework for support functions in order to: 

 Improve functional efficiency (beyond cost reduction alone) 
 Provide actionable financial insights to top management 
• Contribute, in close coordination with Group FP&A, to 3year plans and strategic arbitrations Maintain sustainable control over structural costsyear plans and strategic arbitrations 

 
 

 

Main Missions & Responsibilities 

 

1. Structuring Group Cost Controlling – Support Functions 

  • Define and deploy the Group cost controlling framework 

  • Bring Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Procurement and Corporate functions under full control 

  • Build a clear cost breakdown: 

  • Run vs change 
  • Fixed vs variable 
  • Internal vs outsourced 
  • Identify cost drivers and efficiency levers 

 

2. Data, Frameworks and Automation 

  • Co-develop with oriented standardized reporting 

  • Group Accounting 

  • Group FP&A Director 

  • Tech Controlling Director 

  • Contribute to defining: 

  • Analytical chart of account 

  • Cost allocation and distribution rules 

  • Guarantee reliable, automated and reconciled cost data 

  • Deploy decision-oriented standardized reporting 

 

3. Financial Governance & Management Cycles 

  • Design and lead Group cost reviews (monthly/quarterly) year plan 

  • Integrate cost controlling into existing cycles: 

  • Budget 

  • Forecast 

  • 3year plan 

  • Clarify roles between: 

  • FP&A 

  • Cost Controlling 

  • Accounting 

  • Ensure consistency and avoid duplication of processes 

 

4. Contribution to 3Year Plans 

  • Act as finance lead for the 3year plans of support functions for major projects 

  • Work in close partnership with Group FP&A 

  • Challenge cost trajectories and transformation assumptions 

  • Provide ROI/efficiency focused analysis for major projects 

 

5. Benchmarks & Efficiency Culture 

  • Implement internal benchmarks (entities, countries, functions) and external benchmarks (cost ratios, productivity KPIs) 

  • Develop a Groupwide cost controlling culture: 

  • Discipline 

  • Transparency 

  • Accountability 

  • Position the role as a transformation partner for support functions 

 

6. Animation of the Cost Controlling Community 

  • Identify and structure the Group Cost Controllers communitysharing 

  • Define standards, frameworks and best practices (Group playbook) 

  • Animate: 

  • Group rituals 
  • Insight sharing 
  • Targeted training 
  • Strengthen consistency and raise maturity across the model

  • Cost Controlling community: monthly rituals, best practice sharing, maturity roadmap

Experience 

  • 15+ years of experience in corporate finance 

  • Strong background in Group FP&A and/or Corporate/Support Function controlling 

  • Proven experience in building or redesigning cost steering frameworks 

  • Exposure to international, matrixed Group environments 

 

Technical Skills 

  • Mastery of P&L, cost allocations, analytical structures and accounting principles 

  •  Strong FP&A background (budget, forecast, 3year planning) 

  •  Solid ability to work with Accounting (frameworks, closing, reconciliations) 

  •  Strong interest in data, automation and performance tools 

 

Leadership & Personal Effectiveness 

  • Influential leadership (without direct hierarchical authority), resultsoriented 

  • Ability to challenge senior functional leaders with credibility and diplomacy 

  •  Intellectual rigor, clarity and strong synthesis skills

Tools & Data Environment 

  •  ERP: Oracle or equivalent 

  •  EPM: Oracle Cloud, Hyperion/EPBCS or equivalents (Anaplan, Tagetik…) 

  •  BI/Dataviz: Power BI, Tableau or equivalent 

  •  Data & automation: advanced Excel, data lake / Power Query 

  •  Data governance: frameworks, data quality, controls and traceability
