Role Responsibilities:
·       Develop, program, and optimize CMM inspection routines (primarily using PC-DMIS) to ensure accurate and repeatable measurement of components.
·       Oversee first article inspection (FAI) and incoming inspection processes using both automated and manual inspection methods.
·       Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to define robust inspection strategies.
·       Support investigation of nonconforming products; drive root cause analysis, containment, and corrective actions in collaboration with manufacturing, engineering and quality teams.
·       Establish and maintain Measurement System Analysis (MSA) programs, including Gauge R&R studies, to ensure measurement reliability.
·       Where required, apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to monitor supplier process performance, identify variation, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
·       Generate and maintain inspection work instructions, standard work, and control plans to ensure consistent execution across inspection activities.
·       Support new product introduction (NPI) by defining inspection requirements, developing measurement programs, and validating measurement capability.
·       Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, quality, and production teams to improve inspection efficiency and product quality.
·       Train and coach team members in metrology principles, GD&T interpretation, PC-DMIS programming, and inspection best practices.
·       Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and applicable regulatory requirements within inspection and quality processes.
 
Skills & Experiences:
Education:
·       Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
Work Experience:
·       5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably medical device, aerospace, or precision engineering industries).
·       Strong working knowledge and practical application of ISO 13485 quality management systems.
·       Extensive hands-on experience with PC-DMIS programming and CMM operation.
·       Advanced capability in interpreting engineering drawings and applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
·       Strong understanding and application of Measurement System Analysis (MSA), including Gauge R&R.
·       Proven experience applying Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability analysis.
·       Experience with both automated (CMM) and manual inspection methods (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators).
·       Demonstrated ability to create inspection documentation including work instructions, standard work, and control plans.
·       Experience investigating quality issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
·       Proven experience developing and mentoring team members through coaching and training.
·       Strong problem-solving, analytical, and data interpretation skills.
·       Ability to work independently with team player spirit, organized, and good time management with tight timescales
·       Good communication and negotiation skills and learning agility
