Jefferson Abington Hospital has enjoyed an accomplished private practice model of MFM providers for over 30 years, and due to multiple retirements, is building out the next phase of the Jefferson Abington MFM division.

This job is located in Abington, Pennsylvania, 12 miles north of Philadelphia, in Montgomery County. Jefferson Abington Hospital is one of the top 3 busiest birth hospitals in the state and the most active OB/GYN location in the Jefferson system, averaging 4,500 births per year. Jefferson Abington Hospital is a Magnet designated hospital and has achieved an ‘A’ LeapFrog safety rating for many years running.
The Division supports the MFM needs of the Abington service area. The selected physicians will provide maternal fetal medicine services to patients (obstetric ultrasounds, consultations, antenatal procedures and services) within Jefferson Abington Hospital inpatient and outpatient facilities; will participate in the education and training of medical students, residents and fellows; and will collaborate in clinical research opportunities. Academic appointments are through Thomas Jefferson University/Sidney Kimmel College of Medicine at the Assistant, Associate and Professor level.
The Abington Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology includes over 60 physicians, 10 Certified Nurse Midwives, 27 Nurse Practitioners, 12 Sonographers, plus supporting administrative and clinical staff. The department also supports 23 residents, and works closely with the Jefferson enterprise MFM team, which includes 14 MFM Physicians.
Qualified candidates should have a passion for teaching and providing evidence-based clinical care. A strong record of excellence in clinical education is preferred, and a record of scholarly contributions is highly desirable. Applicants must have MD/DO degree and be board certified or board eligible in obstetrics and gynecology, and the subspecialty of maternal fetal medicine. Academic appointment and salary will be commensurate with experience.
