Job Description

Tired of Burnout? Come Practice Veterinary Medicine the Way You Always Imagined—in The Woodlands, TX

Associate Veterinarian – Veterinary Medical Center of The Woodlands

The Woodlands, TX | Full-Time | Small Animal Practice | Up to $50,000 Sign-On Bonus | New Facility Coming in 2027

You didn’t become a veterinarian to feel rushed, underappreciated, or exhausted by 6 p.m. every day. You became a vet to help pets, connect with clients, keep learning, and still have a life outside the clinic.

At Veterinary Medical Center of The Woodlands, we’ve intentionally built a practice where great medicine and a great quality of life can coexist—and we’re excited to welcome another Associate Veterinarian to our closeknit team.

About the Role: Associate Veterinarian

You’ll practice high quality small animal medicine with the support, time, and autonomy you deserve.

What your days will look like:

  • Preventive care, sick visits, diagnostics, and client education
  • Surgery opportunities (soft tissue; more if you’re interested)
  • Collaborating with experienced, approachable doctors—no ego, no competition
  • Working alongside dedicated, well trained technicians and support staff
  • Appointment lengths that allow you to think, connect, and practice real medicine (20–30 minutes)

What We Offer (Why Vets Love It Here)

Compensation and Transparency

  • Base salary: $130,000–$150,000 DOE
  • Production bonus with no negative accrual
  • Sign on bonus up to $50,000
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Paid licenses, DEA, PLIT, and professional dues
  • CE allowance: $2,500 per year plus paid CE days

Schedule and WorkLife Balance

  • Four-day workweek (four 10-hour shifts)
  • No after-hours emergencies
  • Rotating Saturdays only
  • Generous PTO so you can truly unplug

Practice Highlights

  • Upcoming State-of-the-art facility in The Woodlands (new building in 2027)
  • Digital radiology and in-house lab
  • Strong focus on preventive care and client relationships
  • Low turnover with a genuinely happy team
  • Regular team events and a supportive, upbeat environment
  • Culture That Actually Means Something We are an independently run practice with no corporate medical input.
  • Our culture is built on clear values we live every day: Respect, Learning, Do the Right Thing, WOW Service, and Fun.
  • No micromanagement. No burnout culture. Just trust, support, and celebrating wins together.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Licensed (or soon to be licensed) DVM in Texas
  • New graduates and experienced veterinarians welcome
  • A collaborative, kind, and curious professional
  • Someone who values good medicine, communication, and teamwork
  • Special interests are encouraged and supported
