Job Description

Culture Lead

Opportunity

  • As the Data Digital & Technology (DD&T) Culture Lead, own and drive the culture strategy to strengthen DD&T’s one-team culture of Intangible Bonds - rooted in trust, collective commitment, and enabling colleagues to work at their natural best in pursuit of extraordinary outcomes for patients.
  • Operate as a strategic advisor and program leader, translating engagement insights (e.g., Employee Engagement Survey themes) into scalable interventions that increase connection to patients & purpose, strengthen cross-cultural collaboration, and reinforce Takeda values across DD&T.
  • Lead an integrated portfolio of culture programs to increase belonging, inclusion, engagement, recognition, and cross-site collaboration.
  • Provide clear governance, operating cadence, and measurement that enables decentralized site leads to deliver culture locally with consistency and autonomy.

Job responsibilities

Culture Strategy & Roadmap Ownership

  • Define and govern the annual culture roadmap aligned to DD&T strategic priorities and Takeda values.
  • Set standards for “what good looks like” across sites, balancing global alignment with local authenticity.

Culture Program Leadership

  • Own end-to-end program design, governance and ensure the program is credible, inclusive, and aligned to Takeda values.
  • Evolve signature Culture program design using lessons learned, ensure clear eligibility/prioritization, and strengthen cross-cultural capability-building
  • Ensure program delivers measurable value for participants, host sites, and sending organizations.

Culture & Values Group Network Governance & Enablement

  • Build and sustain the global CVG operating model, including onboarding/local lead transitions, governance clarity, and capability-building.
  • Enable autonomy by providing playbooks, toolkits, structured support, and a consistent cadence of follow-ups.

Patients & Purpose

  • Design interventions that strengthen line-of-sight to patient impact (e.g., site/lab visits, patient-impact storytelling, capability building).
  • Embed patient-impact thinking into “how we work” through templates, prompts, and decision checkpoints (in partnership with relevant governance bodies).

Communication & Storytelling

  • Increase visibility and credibility of culture work through consistent communications and narratives that inspire participation and reinforce impact.
  • Partner with communications teams to publish compelling articles and campaigns showcasing culture in action.

Measurement, Feedback Loops, and Continuous Improvement

  • Establish measurement approaches (e.g., participation, event NPS, qualitative feedback, engagement drivers) and translate insights into action plans.
  • Continuously simplify governance and improve prioritization sequencing to maximize sustainable impact.

Job Requirements

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Organizational Psychology, HR, Communications, Business, Learning/Development, or similar).
  • 10+ years of experience leading culture, engagement, communications, or organizational effectiveness programs
  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, program governance, and communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate listening insights (e.g., EES) into credible interventions and measurable outcomes.
  • Deep knowledge of culture, engagement, and organizational effectiveness concepts (e.g., listening strategies, program design, recognition systems).
  • Strong capability in program governance, communications/storytelling, stakeholder facilitation, and measurement.
  • Experience designing scalable culture interventions across global, multi-site organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through empowerment and coaching within a decentralized network model.
  • Strong strategic thinking: connects initiatives across regions and ensures alignment while respecting local context.
  • Builds trust and psychological safety; role-models inclusive leadership and Takeda leadership behaviors.
  • Influences across senior leadership, site leads, HR, communications, and cross-functional partners.
  • Enables collaboration across geographies and cultures; bridges hubs and ICCs effectively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication in English; cross-cultural fluency.

Desirable

  • Experience in global technology organizations and/or transformation contexts.
  • Experience integrating DE&I practices into culture operating models.
  • Familiarity with measurement design (NPS, engagement drivers, qualitative thematic analysis).
