The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

Position Title: Internal Control Accountant

Position Objective

The Internal Control Accountant is responsible for ensuring that financial, accounting, and operational processes comply with internal policies, applicable regulations, and best practices. This role focuses on designing, evaluating, and monitoring internal controls to mitigate risks and ensure the reliability and integrity of financial information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate internal control procedures across accounting and financial processes.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Review accounting records to verify accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.

  • Identify financial, operational, and fraud risks; recommend preventive and corrective actions.

  • Conduct internal audits and support external audit processes.

  • Prepare internal control reports, including findings, risk assessments, and improvement recommendations.

  • Monitor proper safeguarding and management of company assets, revenues, expenses, and inventories.

  • Document processes, workflows, and internal control procedures.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.

  • Oversee internal controls related to ERP systems and automated processes.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in accounting, internal control, or internal/external audit.

  • Experience working with internal control frameworks and audit methodologies.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Familiarity with internal control frameworks (COSO preferred).

  • Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS or local GAAP) and basic tax regulations.

  • Proficient in Excel (intermediate to advanced) and accounting/ERP systems.

  • Experience with data analysis and process documentation.

  • Advanced English level (mandatory) — ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English in a business environment.
