Indirect Tax Specialist

Type of Employment: Permanent
Location: Riga, Latvia
Visa requirements: A valid work permit from the EU/EEA (relocation assistance is not provided)

THE ROLE

Indirect Tax Specialist is a person who takes on the responsibility for VAT processes and declarations for client Business Units, in accordance with agreed timeline and quality.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Acquire, analyze and prepare VAT data/ declarations and ensure accurate, compliant and timely submission of VAT declarations;
Support VAT payment and refund process;
Maintain accounting procedures related to VAT: settlements, reconciliation of VAT accounts, etc.;
Maintain ERP master data for indirect taxes;
Perform quality controls;
Contribute to other projects and duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Higher education in Economics/ Finance or relevant field;
Previous experience in accounting or finance (experience in VAT accounting will be considered as an advantage);
Fluency in English (both verbal and written) to communicate with Business Units and colleagues in Europe and USA;
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks under strict deadlines;
Advanced MS Excel skills, previous experience with ERP systems will be considered as an advantage.
