As a Senior Pricing/Promotion Consultant at 84.51° on the Enterprise Pricing & Promotion Product team, you are the driver of the ‘customer-first’ journey as you advance price/promo science-driven strategy, execution, and implementation work that drives long term sustainable change and makes customers’ lives easier. We are also counting on you to innovate.

Your primary client is Kroger, one of the world’s largest retailers and the third largest employer. You are expected to build strong, trusting relationships with your Kroger stakeholders and influence their decisions that drive long term customer loyalty.

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES


In this role, you will help shape the vision, development, and rollout of pricing and promotion products used by Kroger merchandising partners. You will leverage industry-leading price science, optimization expertise, and AI-driven capabilities to support product innovation that strengthens Kroger’s ability to connect with customers and compete effectively in the market.

On a day-to-day basis, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, business partners, and end users to shape product strategy, gather and translate business requirements, and support adoption of pricing and promotion solutions. You will act as a bridge between business, product, data science, and technology teams to ensure product capabilities align with user needs, strategic priorities, and operational processes.

You will work closely with the Enterprise Pricing & Promotion Data Science team to build a strong foundation in 84.51° price science methodologies and applications. You will also develop expertise in Kroger’s pricing, merchandising systems, and business processes, while staying informed on customer needs, market trends, competitive dynamics, and industry innovations that can influence product direction.

Additional responsibilities include supporting product roadmap planning, identifying opportunities for enhancements, assisting with change management efforts, and helping measure product impact and user adoption. Success in this role requires strong collaboration, strategic thinking, customer-centric problem solving, and the ability to align diverse stakeholders around a shared product vision.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment that is a little unorthodox at times and will possess the following:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and ability to understand the customer perspective
  • Ability to own and independently lead initiatives
  • Comfort with ambiguity
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Relationship management skills, ability to drive alignment across stakeholder groups
  • Strong business/commercial acumen
  • Strong communication skills, especially with driving change with senior level stakeholders
  • Tools and process acumen
  • Ability to explain technical concepts
  • Price/promo experience and/or familiarity with price/promo concepts is a plus
  • Prior experience at a consulting company, data science company, retailer, or CPG is a plus
