About the role
About the Role:
As a GGI Plant Operator, you aren't just running machinery—you are managing the specialized gravity separation systems that keep our groundwater clean and our communities safe. Working under the Liquid Waste Operations (LWO) umbrella, you will monitor, maintain, and master the flow of our intercept facility. If you enjoy a job where no two days are exactly the same and your hard work makes a real-world impact, we want you on our team!
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities):
Own the Flow: Monitor and operate gravity groundwater intercept systems, pumps, valves, and gauges to ensure smooth processing and maximum efficiency.
Keep it Safe: Safety isn’t just a rule here—it’s our culture. You will strictly follow all OSHA and GFL safety protocols, participate in safety huddles, and keep the plant floor spotless and hazard-free.
Troubleshoot & Maintain: Perform routine checks, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on pumps, piping networks, and separation equipment to keep downtime to an absolute minimum.
Track the Data: Maintain accurate daily logs, track fluid levels, record flow rates, and assist with compliance reporting.
Gear Up & Move: Safely operate plant support equipment (like forklifts or utility carts) and handle materials in accordance with facility guidelines.
What We’re Looking For (Requirements):
Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on experience in an industrial environment, wastewater treatment, water processing, or liquid waste operations. (Experience with gravity separation is a huge plus!)
Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain site-specific equipment operations certifications (e.g., forklift) and clear any required local environmental/safety training.
The Right Attitude: A team player with a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, and a passion for environmental sustainability.
Skills & Abilities That Will Help You Thrive:
Mechanical aptitude—you love figuring out how things work and how to fix them when they don't.
Ability to read and interpret basic equipment manuals, safety signs, and digital control panels.
Solid communication skills to collaborate effectively with your supervisor and team members.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
This is an active, physical role. You’ll be standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and bending throughout your shift.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs when needed.
Work is performed in a dynamic industrial plant environment with exposure to outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and standard industrial elements.
Safety First: Wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)—including hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and high-visibility gear—is required at all times.
We thank you for your interest. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
