Senior Regulatory Legal Counsel (Private Equity & Funds) (m/f/d)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Regulatory Legal Counsel to join our team. In this role, you will provide strategic legal advice across commercial and contractual matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting high-profile, cross-functional projects. You will be a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, balancing legal risk with commercial goals.

Joining Moonfare’s Legal Team means becoming part of an expert, cross-border group that supports the launch of new investment products by drafting and negotiating fund documents, overseeing service providers, liaising with external counsel, and ensuring regulatory excellence. You will: 

• Provide legal advice on commercial and regulatory topics for regulated entities and regulated services within the internationally active Moonfare Group and support in mastering complex legal and PE funds matters.
• Collaborate on regulatory issues and fund-related projects as well as cross-border service activities in relation to MiFID, AIFMD, DORA, WpIG, WpHG and KAGB.
• Cooperate closely with business stakeholders within the Moonfare Group to understand their needs and build strong, trust-based partnerships.
• Review, draft and negotiate of commercial contracts with service providers, suppliers, and other third-party partners, particularly in relation to our fully digital investment platform, IT and data protection content, and IT services, also in the context of outsourcing.
• Review funds related contracts in regard to funds distribution, introduction and other business partnership agreements
• Analysis of current legal and contract management processes and development of automated solutions to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Monitoring and sharing of developments in relevant legal areas.

The next Moonfarian: 

• Extensive post-qualification experience in commercial and regulatory law, outsourcing/DORA/Data Protection and technology law as well as cross-border activities in regulated PE funds services
• Fully qualified lawyer (Zweites Staatsexamen) in Germany
• Full written and spoken professional working proficiency in German & English
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams on complex, multi-jurisdictional projects
• Highly structured, able to navigate a fast-paced environment, and comfortable dealing with ambiguity
