At Northrop Grumman Australia, we’re driven by a shared purpose: to deliver trusted capability to support Australia’s Defence mission. We’re looking for a motivated Program Business Analyst to join our C27J Program Business Management team, where you’ll play a hands-on role supporting a dynamic, mission‑critical platform while building a strong foundation in Defence business management.

Your role:

As a Program Business Analyst, you will provide day‑to‑day financial and operational support across the C27J program. Working closely with Program, Contracts and Finance stakeholders, you’ll contribute to accurate financial reporting, strong cost management, and informed decision-making that supports program performance and outcomes.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with early post‑graduate experience who is looking to grow their career in business management within the Defence industry.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting month-end close activities, including general ledger reconciliations, journal preparation and data consolidation

  • Preparing and issuing monthly customer invoicing and financial deliverables

  • Analysing financial performance against budget, including variance analysis and reporting

  • Reviewing profit and loss and balance sheet accounts to understand key cost drivers

  • Maintaining program financial structures, including WBS setup within financial systems

  • Assisting with short and long-range financial planning and resource management

  • Managing accounts payable queries and supporting cross‑functional stakeholders

  • Developing and maintaining work instructions and standardised processes

  • Providing ad hoc support across the program to ensure business objectives are met

You’ll be part of a collaborative team environment where attention to detail, accountability, and teamwork are valued—working together to deliver outcomes that matter.

About you:

You’re a proactive and detail‑oriented business or finance professional who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, team‑focused environment. You take pride in your work, bring a “can‑do” attitude, and are motivated to deliver high‑quality results that support Defence capability.

You’ll bring:

  • A degree qualification in Accounting (essential)

  • 2–3 years of relevant post‑graduate experience in finance, accounting, or business management

  • Strong working knowledge of financial systems and processes, including P&L and general ledger activities

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence adapting to new tools and systems

  • High attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

  • Well‑developed communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders

  • A team‑focused mindset, with the confidence to work independently when required

Experience or exposure to Defence, project controls, or program environments will be highly regarded. Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance is required.
