The Program Coordinator will support the development and day-to-day operations of the newly established Ryan Institute for Interdisciplinary Health Solutions (RIIHS) within the School of Public Health at Washington University in St. Louis.This role will coordinate and project manage core institute activities, including the annual summit, events, communications, and program administration (including supporting development and funding of seed grant opportunities), while supporting the execution of interdisciplinary initiatives and partnerships across the University and external sectors. The position is intended to ensure the effective implementation of Institute priorities and contribute to the growth and impact of a new, solutions-oriented initiative. This role may offer opportunities to take on increased responsibility and contribute to the development of Institute programs and operations as the Institute evolves.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Program and Operations Coordination
Coordinate day-to-day operations of RIIHS, including scheduling, calendar management, meeting logistics, and follow-up actions. Ensure smooth execution of internal and external engagements.
Convenings and Event Execution
Plan and execute RIIHS convenings (e.g., Day of Inquiry, workshops, salons), including logistics, materials preparation, participant coordination, and on-site support.
Communications and External Engagement
Draft and coordinate communications with faculty, partners, and external stakeholders across sectors. Support outreach, relationship tracking, and follow-up.
Seed Grant and Program Administration
Support administration of institute seed grants and other programs, including application coordination, review process logistics, tracking deliverables, and reporting.
Program Development and Strategic Support
Support development of new initiatives by conducting background research, preparing briefing materials, helping structure ideas, and tracking emerging opportunities.
General Administrative and Operational Support
Provide flexible, as-needed support across Institute activities, including documentation, process building, and special projects.

- Master's in public health or master’s degree in relevant field.

Experience building project management timelines and ensuring tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
Interest in interdisciplinary approaches to public health and complex problem-solving.
Experience working in or with academic institutions, healthcare systems, nonprofits, government, or other cross-sector environments.
Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, and proactively solve problems.
Experience supporting new or growing programs, initiatives, or teams.
Ability to translate ideas into organized plans and actionable next steps.

$49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
