The Role: Data Analyst, Transactions, EDO Data – Data Operations

 

The Data Analyst is an individual contributor role that develops foundational proficiency in one or more workflows or datasets. The role supports end-to-end data lifecycle activities including sourcing, basic validation, enrichment, and delivery under guidance, adhering strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and set guidelines, and escalating deviations for a defined dataset or workflow. The role emphasizes building strong data literacy and operational discipline, learning industry concepts, and collaborating with other data research teams. Analysts contribute to UAT and day-to-day solutioning, follow established standards, and participate in continuous process improvement and the adoption of technology and AI-enabled workflows.

 

The Team: Transactions Team provides real-time, comprehensive, and validated data on key corporate events worldwide. We diligently track all types of Mergers, Acquisitions, Capital Market Activities like IPO, Fixed Income Offerings, Follow On Offerings, Buybacks, and Bankruptcies, ensuring our clients are always the first to know empowering them with decisive market advantage.

 

The Impact: Employees in these roles are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, comprehensiveness, and timeliness of data. In addition to collecting and validating the data, this role requires working with peers, other stakeholders and on process improvement projects. This position is an excellent stepping stone to understand transactions domain and the new gen AI capabilities which can be applied to daily responsibilities to improve the efficiency of workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, collect, and validate transaction-related data from filings, regulatory documents, press releases, and financial disclosures
• Execute sourcing, tagging, loading, and basic enrichment activities in strict adherence to SOPs, rule books, and predefined validation checks.
• Execute day-to-day data collection, extraction, and basic cleansing using approved manual and AI-assisted methodologies.
• Analyse M&A transactions, capital market activity, and restructuring events to generate structured datasets and insights
• Meet individual and team performance targets with a strong emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
• Leverage expertise in data analytics and AI—including GenAI models—to automate data extraction, summarization, and normalization, actively contributing to collaborative initiatives that enhance data quality, taxonomy, and coverage.

 

What We’re Looking

• Graduate (BBA/B.Com/BMS) OR Post-Graduate / MBA in Finance as major Specialization with good academic track record
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in data operations, research, or related roles (internships included). Experience of Mergers, Acquisitions, Capital Market Activities like IPO, Fixed Income Offerings, Follow On Offerings will be preferred
• Strong attention to detail and operational discipline; balance speed with accuracy.
• Familiarity with structured/unstructured data formats (Excel, PDFs, filings, news, vendor feeds, etc).
• Capability to read and interpret simple source materials (e.g., filings, vendor feeds, news).
• Beginner knowledge of SQL/Excel for querying, filtering, and reconciling data.
• Awareness of automation and GenAI tools; ability to follow prescribed usage patterns.
