Roles & Responsibilities:
Strong understanding of global payment systems including:
- SWIFT (MT103, MT202)
- FED payments
- Internal transfers
- FX transactions
Knowledge of global banking & settlement codes:
- ABA, Sort Code, BSB, BIC, IBAN
- RTGS, NEFT
- Various global payment and cash settlement mechanisms
Hands-on experience in manual payments / wire processing, with a clear understanding of end-to-end payment lifecycle
Ability to:
- Read and interpret Standard Settlement Instructions (SSIs)
- Identify missing or incorrect payment information
Process responsibilities:
- Vendor invoice verification and payment execution via banking portals
- Custody and fund-related bank invoice validation
- Subscription and redemption payment processing
Operational tasks:
- Mailbox monitoring and prioritizing payments based on currency cut-offs
- Support global teams with daily payment requirements
Client interaction:
- Handle queries via email and calls with clients and local offices
Reporting & controls:
- Ensure all daily processing is completed and signed off
- Identify, report, and escalate issues or delays proactively
Team & performance:
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Demonstrate flexibility to work in shift-based operations
Additional Responsibilities (Leadership Level):
- Manage and guide a team of 10+ members
- Oversee end-to-end Treasury / Payments operations
- Prepare and manage MIS reports
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of payments, treasury, and banking operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in B.Com, MBA, or equivalent
- Knowledge of Hedge Funds / Private Equity is an added advantage
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 7+ years of experience in:
- FX / Payments processing
- Payment investigations
- SWIFT & FED payment handling
Prior experience in:
- Payments / Banking / Treasury / Transfer Agency (preferred)
