About the role
The Emergency Room Reimbursement Specialist evaluates the emergency room visit documentation for accurate and complete charge capture, assessing for gaps in documentation with regards to clinical information, and querying the providers when necessary.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Schedule: Monday thru Friday | 8 am - 5 pm - Start time is flexible
Conduct an investigation and assessment regarding payment discrepancies.
Identify and implement necessary actions to ensure appropriate outcomes are met.
Conduct and coordinate third party audits.
Advise and inform management of reimbursement issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED - Required
Associate's Degree Allied Health Profession - Preferred
4 years Emergency Room coding/ charging, Revenue Cycle, billing experience - Required
4 years Emergency Room clinical experience - Required
No Experience required if candidate holds an active RHIT, RHIA, or CCS
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) upon hire - Preferred or
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Candidate - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) credential obtained within 1 year of hire - Preferred or
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) Candidate - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) credential obtained within 1 year of hire - Preferred
