About this position: 

The Senior Vice President Commercial Lender is responsible for developing new business, the structuring and closing of commercial loans, and maintaining and servicing an existing portfolio. This role will also represent the credit union in the local community through active participation in community affairs and through marketing all of the credit union's products and services.

What you’ll do:

Business Development & Relationship Management

  • Generates new commercial lending opportunities through prospecting, referral network development, market expansion, and strategic relationship building with business owners, centers of influence, and existing clients.

Commercial Lending Portfolio Management

  • Manages and grows a commercial loan portfolio by monitoring credit performance, identifying risk factors, maintaining borrower relationships, and ensuring portfolio growth aligns with organizational lending objectives and risk tolerance.

Commercial Credit Analysis & Underwriting

  • Evaluates commercial loan requests through detailed financial statement analysis, cash flow assessment, risk evaluation, collateral review, and credit structuring to develop sound lending recommendations and support portfolio quality.

 Loan Documentation, Closing & Administration

  • Coordinates the end-to-end loan process, including loan structuring, documentation review, closing preparation, compliance verification, and execution of loan agreements to ensure accurate and timely funding.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

  • Maintains knowledge of and follows applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and credit union policies and procedures. Supports the organization’s compliance and risk management efforts to identify and address potential risks.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.

  • 7+ years of experience as a senior commercial lender, with proven success in portfolio management and business development.

  • Thorough knowledge of commercial lending policy, depository services, credit union/banking operations. Solid financial analysis capabilities and understanding of financial statements
