This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). This temporary position is located at 1329 N. Brightleaf Blvd., Bldg C, Smithfield - Johnston County, with the Department of Health & Human Services.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $24.41 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). 

Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification.  The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

This position is located in the catchment area of the Rocky Mount Children's Developmental Services Agency (CDSA).

Key Responsibilities:

Working with families and providers to develop functional Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs)
Work with multidisciplinary teams to determine families' needs for support and services
Conduct home visits
Coordinate and facilitate services and transition planning
Participate in the authorization and monitoring of early intervention services

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education, Psychology from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of professional experience working with the population served; or Bachelor’s degree in human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of professional experience working with the population served; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
