About the role

When you join Verizon

At Verizon, we power and empower how people live, work and play by connecting them to what brings them joy. We do what we love — driving innovation, creativity, and impact in the world. Our V Team is a community of people who anticipate, lead, and believe that listening is where learning begins. As our Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Digital, MarTech & Research, you will lead the global commercial strategy and execution for Verizon’s high-growth Marketing Technology, Digital Media, AdTech, Data Analytics, and Market Research portfolios.

Operating at the intersection of marketing innovation, technology, and commercial strategy, you will manage sourcing across cutting-edge Generative AI platforms, programmatic ad tech, consumer insights tools, and omni-channel digital delivery networks.

In this role, your mission is to build a tech-forward marketing ecosystem that pairs our internal capabilities with elite digital, technology, and research partners. Working in close alignment with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Chief AI Officer, Marketing VPs, and business leadership, you will serve as a commercial catalyst who inspires curiosity, proactive ideas, and innovative approaches through tech partnerships, while championing solutions, opportunities, and breakthrough digital work.

You will directly manage a team of sourcing professionals based in Ireland, partnering with executive Marketing, IT, and Data leads to elevate work by embedding AI purposefully to maximize value and drive operational efficiency. This includes negotiating agile, fit-for-purpose commercial models unencumbered by legacy software or research licensing paradigms.

What you will be doing:

  • Executive & Business Leadership Collaboration: Partnering directly with the CMO, VPs of MarTech, Digital Growth, Consumer Insights, and IT leadership to ensure digital technology and research sourcing roadmaps directly mirror business strategy, customer experience, and revenue goals.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Recruiting, mentoring, and leading a team of sourcing professionals; setting clear operational goals, conducting performance evaluations, and building tailored development plans to cultivate a high-performing category team.
  • Category Strategy & MarTech Evolution: Leading and owning multi-year global sourcing strategies for MarTech platforms, digital media technology, consumer research tools, and data analytics. Restructuring category frameworks to support rapid advancements in AI, machine learning, and omni-channel delivery.
  • Modern Commercial Models & AI Integration: Partnering with Marketing, Data, IT, and Finance leadership to co-create fit-for-purpose, usage-based, or outcome-based commercial models unencumbered by past requirements. Driving initiatives that elevate digital content and insights work by embedding AI purposefully to maximize value and operational efficiency.
  • Breakthrough Partner Management: Driving strategic relationships across MarTech platforms, research houses, and ad tech providers that inspire curiosity, proactive ideas, and innovative approaches, positioning tech partners to champion solutions, opportunities, and breakthrough work for Verizon.
  • Contracting & Complex Negotiations: Leading high-stakes negotiations for enterprise SaaS agreements, API integration licenses, data feed subscriptions, Statements of Work (SOWs), and research panel contracts. Partnering with Legal and InfoSec to enable expedited access to AI-driven tools while mitigating data privacy, IP, and security risks.
  • Commercial Performance & Benchmarking: Establishing robust performance tracking (QBRs/SLA monitoring), conducting MarTech and data rate benchmarking, managing portfolio spend against budgets alongside Marketing Finance, and optimizing working capital mandates (including DPO90 targets).
  • Process Modernization: Streamlining procurement lifecycles through sourcing tools (Ariba, SAP, Google Workspace) and automated AI contracting templates.
  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required to support partner reviews and business alignment.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Marketing, Finance, or a relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience in Strategic Sourcing, Commercial Management, or Procurement, with a proven track record in technology, software, or digital marketing category management.
  • Direct experience managing people or leading project-based sourcing teams.
  • Hands-on experience negotiating and managing MarTech, SaaS, AdTech, Data, or Market Research contracts with strong engagement across business leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Valid right to work in Ireland.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master’s degree or MBA in a related field.
  • Track record of building strong working relationships with C-suite and VP-level stakeholders (CMO, CIO/CTO, VPs of Digital).
  • Deep commercial knowledge of the modern MarTech and AI ecosystem (customer data platforms, programmatic tech, generative AI content tools, and research subscription models).
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), IP rights, and security considerations inherent in cloud-based marketing tools and consumer research platforms.
  • Strong background in commercial negotiations, software licensing benchmarks, and working capital optimization (e.g., DPO90 extensions).
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and executive presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in enterprise sourcing platforms (Ariba, SAP) and Google Workspace.
